In celebrating wellness and good health, Hilton Colombo Residences joins hands with LiteFM for ‘Fun Run 2015’ that is being held for the ninth time. Fun Run 2015 will be hosted by the hotel and open to the public to promote wellbeing and fitness, which is also in keeping with Hilton Worldwide’s support for sporting excellence. The Fun Run will be on Sunday, 20 September.
Into its ninth year, the Fun Run is approved by the Ministry of Sports. The route of six kilometers for adults will commence from Hilton Colombo Residences at Staple Street, proceed towards Union Place, Rifle Street, and end at the hotel. For the under fifteen age group, the three kilometre route will turn off from Malay Street to the Slave Island police station through Kumaran Rathnam mawatha and end back at the hotel via Union Place.
Speaking about the event, general manager Karim Schadlou commented that as much as the hotel promotes its dining offers, it is also important to promote good health. “It will be an exciting event giving opportunity to children and adults to compete in a have fun at the same time. We are enthusiastic about our partnership with Lite FM and other sponsors who will be a part of Fun Run 2015.”
Light refreshments will also be offered to participants after the event. Team Members of the hotel will be placed in key points to spur the participants on.
The event will start at 7 a.m. on 20 September. Applications are available at the sports centre and main reception at Hilton Colombo Residences for Rs. 500 per applicant which will entitle them to a t-shirt for the event. The events for the day will include a Men’s and Women’s open running event for six kilometres, and another for boys and girls under fifteen for a three kilometre run.
