Up-and-comer Hellibees Racing posted a strong showing at the recently concluded Round 2 of the Katukurunda Circuit Meet 2015.
This was also the first time that Hellibees Racing participated in car races, with team member Chaminda Gooneratne coming in first, while Andrew Choksy placed third, in the fan favourite Formula McClarens 1300 EFi cars category.
This also marks a new phase of Hellibees Racing, with plans in the works to add new drivers to the team in the near future.
However, the big recognition for Hellibees Racing came in the motorbike races, where riders topped the 600cc (Shoel Daniel), 250cc Super Motard (Sangeeth Suriyage) and 250cc (Shoel Daniel) categories.
Meanwhile, in a stunning turn of events, Hellibees Racing newcomer Sheron Mishal earned second place in the 125cc category. This is particularly impressive since it was his first official race ever, as he only recently completed his rider training at the Hellibees Fahrenheit Racing School.
Other winning Hellibees Racing team members included rider Ned Daniel, who came out of retirement to race, placing third in the Super Motard 450cc category; while Reza Odayar record to a second place finish in two over 800cc Open motorbike events held over the course of the day.
Commenting on the rapid-fire successes of Hellibees Racing, the team’s Founder Murad Ismail said: “What we have brought to the scene, which has been sorely lacking, is our winning formula of performance, strong technical skills and a sense of professionalism. We also strongly believe in maintaining the spirit of sportsmanship and being gentlemen and role models in this sport.
“Further, the Hellibees Racing team is backed by a number of highly respected personalities and brands, known for supporting racing in Sri Lanka for many years. This bringing together of an old school code of conduct, and youthful passion and engineering, is undoubtedly the secret to our success, and you’ll be seeing a lot more of us in the months and years to come.”
Set up by motorbike racing enthusiast Murad Ismail, in partnership with well-established professional racers Shoel and Ned Daniel, Hellibees Racing made its first appearance in May 2015 at Round 1 of the Katukurunda Circuit Meet 2015, where Shoel Daniel placed first in the 250cc and 600cc category and Sangeeth Suriyage came in second in 250cc Super Motard.
The team is ably supported by Fahrenheit Engineering, owned and operated by Ned Daniel, which provides Hellibees Racing with the engineering support, as well as talented and professional racers, essential for blistering competition.
