Havelocks will be all out to continue their winning form in the club league rugby tournament as it reaches its second week.
Havies will depend heavily on experienced players such as Dulaj Perera, Sudharshan Muthuthanthri, Hiranach Perera and Sharo Fernando. Police have continuously struggled for form from last season. They have some solid players in their ranks such as Musheen Faleel and skipper Achala Perera. The side is coached by Sudath Sampath. Ronny Ibrahim, who is in his first year as Head Coach of Havies, will be looking out for his second win this weekend. The game will be refereed by Priyantha Gunaratne
Meanwhile, Army, who had a good first game despite ending up on the losing side, will be the firm favorites to register a win against CH&FC who were thumped by Kandy by almost 100 points. Rohan Fernando will officiate the game.
Kandy will be in Colombo for the first time this season where they will be hosted by the Air Force outfit in Ratmalana. Kandy, who are the defending triple champions, should have things their own way. The biggest question is whether the Airmen can keep the upcountry outfit below the half-century mark.
Kandy have the superior three-quarter line with their ranks sporting many national players. They will be heavily dependent on in-form Dhanushka Ranjan, Richard Dharmapala, Kanchana Ramanayake, Sayuru Anthony, Yakoob Ali and Kishore Jahan. Aruna Rankothge will referee the game.
The second week will feature three matches on Saturday and a sole game on Sunday when the Sailors host the Red Shirts at Welisara.
After a close call against the Soldiers, CR&FC will not have an easy outing once again when they face the Navy outfit away in Welisara. Navy will depend on Dinusha Fernando, Dhanushka Perera and Leeke Keegale to deliver the goods. CR will depend on their young players such as Omalka Gunaratne, Rochana Hettiarachchi and Shashan Mohamed to come out on top and continue their winning form this season. Irshard Cader will referee this game.
