Fourth Annual Golf Classic to tee off on 26 July

The annual Etisalat Golf Classic returns for its 2013 and 4th consecutive outing at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) from 26 to 27 July. The tournament is an eagerly anticipated event in Sri Lanka’s golfing calendar where avid golfers look forward to claim an all expenses paid golf tours to Abu Dhabi. The grand prizes will be awarded to Etisalat Elite Club members with the best scores at the end of the tournament. The two day tournament will culminate in an award ceremony at RCGC on 27 July. The grand prize winners will receive all-expenses paid trips to Abu Dhabi flying business class, including airport transfers and transport, and accommodation at a five star hotel for both them and a friend. The lucky pairs of golfers will also have the opportunity to play three rounds on the greens of the spectacular Abu Dhabi Golf Club and attend the Abu Dhabi Open, International Golf Tournament. The tournament will be contested in many divisions including; A to C, Masters and seniors. The Ladies Bronze and Silver divisions will also compete, as will the Sri Lanka Pool Players. The winners in these divisions will also be awarded prizes such as free air time and devices. This year marks the fourth outing of the tournament and is open to all members of the Etisalat Elite Club, all RCGC members and all Sri Lankan golf pool players. The Etisalat Elite Club was formed in 2010 following the culmination of the very first Etisalat Golf Classic. It was an initiative to reward and encourage loyal Etisalat customers. To be eligible for Elite Club membership, Etisalat customers need to be members of the RCGC, VGC or NECG and maintain a usage criterion. Etisalat Lanka’s ties with the golfing fraternity have grown significantly over the past few years. The company is the first and only Telco and private organisation to partner with all four golf clubs in Sri Lanka, namely The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC), Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGC) and The Eagles’ Golf Links in Trincomalee, strengthening its commitment to the game.
