The centurions, Aravinda Kumara from Brandix Apparel Solutions, Pathum Madusanka from UB Finance, Kavindu Cooray from DFCC Bank and Mahesh Gihan from Astron Lanka, hogged the lime light in the ongoing 14th David Pieris Group of Companies sponsored, DPGC Challenge Trophy, MCA “E” division 30-Over League Tournament 2016, continued last weekend.
Brandix No. 3 batsman Aravinda Kumara set the ground ablaze with a fire work 156 not out in 76 balls, inclusive of 08 sixes and 18 fours, which propelled them to a 97 runs win over Trelleborg Lanka.
Opening batsman, Pathum Madusanka struck a fluent 114 in 80 balls inclusive of 06 sixes and 12 fours as UB Finance trounced Singer Sri Lanka “B” by a huge margin of 165 runs.
Openers, Kavinda Cooray (104 in 81 balls, inclusive of 04 sixes & 12 fours) and Paboda Manoj (50) put on 105 runs in 93 balls, while Lakshitha Liyanage snapped up 4 for 10 in 06 overs to guide DFCC Bank to a resounding 132 runs win over Hilton Colombo.
Two more openers, Mahesh Gihan (101 in 78 balls, inclusive of 10 sixes and 04 fours) and Buddhika Abeyratne (55) put on 150 runs in 101 balls and opening fast bowler, Vipula Silva (5 – 36 – 4) made early on roads, as Astron Lanka crushed Singer Sri Lanka “B” by 93 runs.
The bowling spot light fell on Unilever’s , right arm off spinner, Milinda Weerasinghe who finished with 6 -39-5 Vs. AIA Insurance.
