Reuters: Force India’s Formula One team unveiled their new car for the 2016 season on the first day of pre-season testing in Barcelona, Spain, on Monday (22 February).
For the third successive season, Mexico’s Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg of Germany will be driving for the team and have been joined by test driver Alfonso Celis Jr of Mexico who had the task of driving the VJM09 car for the first time in public at the test.
Force India will be looking to build on their fifth-place finish in the 2015 constructors’ championship, with Perez finishing ninth and Hulkenberg tenth in the drivers’ championship. The team’s best finish last season saw Perez take third place in Russia.
The teams will spend four days in Barcelona this week and another four days testing there from 1 March before the season begins in Melbourne, Australia, on 20 March.
