Sri Lanka Sevens outfit under Dhanushka Ranjan will make an important tour to Hong Kong on 4 April in order to participate at the HSBC Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Rugby Sevens which will take place at the Hong Kong Stadium from 7-9 April.
The initial pool of 22 players was named by the national selection committee headed by Michael Jayasekera. Anurudda Wilwara, Fazil Marija, Chanaka Chandimal, Nishon Perera, Thanuja Maduranga, Supun Dilshan, Sudam Parinda, Rehan de Silva, Anuradha Herath and Samith Dhananjaya have earned their place in the 22 which will be reduced after training next week.
Sri Lanka will play Chile, Hong Kong and Namibia in group encounters in the 12 team event. The winner will earn a berth in the 2017/2018 World Series tournament.
