Browns Exide, a market leader in automotive batteries in Sri Lanka, has come forward as principal sponsors of the S. Thomas’ College Rugby Season this year. Exide takes this opportunity as an endeavour in supporting and strengthening rugby among the youth in Sri Lanka.
As the principal sponsors of S. Thomas’ College Rugby, Exide will have branding rights of the jerseys of the College rugby teams during all tournaments. To signify the sponsorship, the jersey handover ceremony was held on 17 March.
S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia, established in 1851, is one of the oldest and prestigious colleges in Sri Lanka. Rooted in deep history, tradition, values and integrity the institution has come a long way in the field of sports and holds steadfast to its reputation of producing true gentleman imbibed with the legendary Thomian spirit.
Sharing his sentiments, Browns Battery Division Deputy General Manager Ajith De Silva stated: “Rugby has now grown to be a sport well-loved by Sri Lankans and we are honoured to have had the opportunity in playing a key role in enhancing the game of rugby in Sri Lanka. Thomas’ College.”
