One of the fastest growing airlines in the world—Emirates and an Official FIFA worldwide partner and sponsor of the FIFA World Cup, gave the football fans a taste of the action on Friday 5 April, when the 2014 FIFA World Cup Winners Trophy was displayed at the Dubai Airport’s new Concourse ‘A’ facility.
In anticipation of the Brazil-hosted FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 this June, and the subsequent FIFA World Cup next year, Emirates crew from Brazil met football fans as they gathered to catch a glimpse of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Winners Trophy in Concourse ‘A’.
“Our sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup allows us to strike a chord with football fans around the world, sharing and supporting their passion for this truly global sport,” Emirates Corporate Communications Divisional Senior Vice President Boutros Boutros said.
“It has been rewarding for us to be able to give football fans and our passengers, access to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Winners Trophy, thanks to fellow FIFA partner Visa. We continually look for opportunities to bring fans closer to the game they love.”
The 2014 FIFA World Cup Winners Trophy was brought to the GCC by Visa, another Official FIFA partner, as a part of its efforts to build excitement about the trophy, and offer fans in the GCC a chance to have their pictures taken with the world’s most recognised sports trophy.
Beyond the collaboration with Emirates at Dubai Airport on Friday 5 April, Visa provided football fans with the opportunity to see the trophy at the iconic Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall in the UAE, as well as showcasing the Trophy with its partner banks in Kuwait and Muscat.
