Defending Interschool Under 20 Singer league champions Isipathana College will be the firm favourites to secure the title once again this year.
Led by rock hard national youth player Omalka Gunaratne, the outfit from Havelock Road looks set for the kill in the second round which will commence in two weeks’ time.
Isipathana who won all their five matches in the first round convincingly will lock horns with Thomians in their first game in round two at the CR&FC on 30 May. They could face some stiff resistant from Royal and Trinity in this round.
The other unbeaten outfit in Royal College will be meeting Kingswood in their first game in the second round at the Royal Sports Complex on 30 May. Royal who beat trinity in a close encounter should have things their own way with a fine set of forwards. But the lads from Randles Hill could give some threatening moves if space is given.
On the same day Joes will meet Science at Mount Lavinia and Trinity too will be in Colombo playing against the Peterites at Bambalapitiya.
