AFP: Jason Day has leapfrogged Rory McIlroy to move up to second place in golf’s world rankings behind Jordan Spieth.

The 28-year-old Australian, who briefly enjoyed top spot last year after his win in the PGA Championship, held firm to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.

It was the eighth US PGA Tour win of his career and it sets him up well for another tilt at the first of the year’s majors, the Masters, at Augusta National in just over two weeks’ time.dfysry
