Colombo Veterans Football Club heads for Mauritius

The Colombo Veterans Football Club will leave the island on 18 September 2012 to participate in the VII International Masters Football Festival – 2012 in Mauritius.

This tournament is being held for the seventh consecutive year. The six participating clubs are from Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Seated from left: J. Rohana, U.M. Premalal, Imtiyas Raheem, M.S.M. Faiz, (coach) G.P.C. Karunaratne, M.H. Roomy, M. Hishamudeen, M.S.M. Badurdeen (Capt.), R. Puvanandiran (V. Pres. FFSL and Sponsor), T.S. Sudar, and M.S.M. Feroze Inham (Manager)host Mauritius.

Colombo Veterans F.C. (Sri Lanka) is the reigning champion for the year 2011 event held in India. It is the only club to be champions twice, joint champion once, and runners-up once within the short period of this tournament.  The team consists most of the past National Players of Sri Lanka.
