Former Peterite and Science College consultant coach Collin Denish was appointed as the Head Coach for Sri Lanka Under 20 Rugby team Asian Sevens series in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
The Malaysian leg will be worked off on 15 and 16 August while the second leg will take place on 22 and 23 of August at the Hong Kong Football Club in Causeway Bay.
The Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union have picked up a 30 member pool for this tour with the final touring squad to be named after one week’s training. Former Havelocks player Rajeev Perera will be the Assistant Coach and the Manager of the team.
A surprising omission was former Sevens coach Nilfer Ibrahim, who was not considered for this tour.
Nilfer took the Sri Lanka senior sevens team to the third place at the Asian Sevens Championship and also took Isipathana College to Runner-up position in two trophies, Singer League and Milo Knock-out, along with the Under 20 Sevens champions.
