The 22 year old rising star, from Classic Travel, Mohamed Zaeem Sheriff emerged as the new winner of the Travel Trade Sports Club Pool Championships 2016, when he beat debutant from Authenticities (Pvt) Ltd., Viraj Nallawangsa, 2/0 in the “Cup” Championship final, at the “Shotz” Pool Lounge, Excel World on Friday.
Thirty eight players from 14 member firms participated.
Mohamed Sharaz from Sri Lankan Airlines won the “Plate”; H. Kamalanath from Eco Team won the “Bowl” and GSP Kumara from Club Bentota won the “Shield”.
The 2015 “Cup” winner, Rushan Fuard from Exotic Holidays lost to D.N.D. de Silva from Club Bentota in the 2nd round & the “Cup” runner-up, Ackiel Jameel from Amadeus Lanka lost to Ranga Andradi from Club Bentota in the 2nd round; the 3rd seeded player that got eliminated was Vivek Kerkovan from Kingsbury, last year’s “Plate” winner, who lost to Eshan Tirimanne from Eco Team.
