Ceylon Motor Sports Club to hosts first ever FiA Asia Pacific Zone meeting in Sri Lanka

The Ceylon Motor Sports Club, the ASN (Representative for the World Governing Body for Motor Sport) for the FIA in Sri Lanka,  sets yet another milestone in the history of Motor Sport by playing host to the FIA Asia Pacific Zone meeting, which is due to be held on the 25th of April 2012.

Over 20 Motor Racing   delegates from the Asia Pacific region which includes Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Korea, Hongkong, Macau, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will arrive in Sri Lanka for the meeting.

FiA Regional meeting discusses all Motor Sport Championships in the region as well as other related matters of the region which include marshal training, driver safety, motor sport promotion, and joint cooperation between countries in the region.  

 The meeting is significant as Sri Lanka, although yet to conduct an in International championship, has gained an exposure by conducting Marshal Training session which is a prerequisite to conducting professional race meets.Sri Lanka plays a pivotal role at the meeting as the President of the CMSC currently officiates as the Secretary of the Fia Asia Zone, which in its self is a prestige for the country.

Some of the delegates will be spending a few days after the meeting to tour the country.
