Members of the CEAT racing team won first place in three events and secured podium finishes in four others at the 2013 Foxhill Supercross, reaffirming the brand’s status as a force to be reckoned with on the race track.
Upulwan Serasinghe won the Group SL-N Ford Laser/Mazda 1500cc race, ranking fourth in the 1300cc event and fourth and fifth in the 1600cc races at Foxhill, while Shashika Lakmal Wijerathna was the winner at the Group SL-A Mini 7 1000cc race.
Motorcycle racer Jacques Gunawardana won both races in the Group MX motocross bikes up to 85cc category. Another CEAT racing driver Chathura Priyankara Wijeratne was placed third in the Group SL-A Mini 7 1000cc event.
“This is a great start to the year’s racing for CEAT and for the individual drivers,” CEAT Kelani Holdings Sales and Marketing Vice President Ravi Dadlani said. “We are particularly pleased with the performance of CEAT radials tyres used in some races by our drivers, because they prove beyond any doubt the performance credentials of the product.”
The CEAT racing team comprises of ace drivers Upulwan Serasinghe, Janaka Dias, Lalin Kirinda, Shashika Lakmal Wijerathna, Chathura Priyankara Wijeratne, Lt. Colonel Duminda Jayasinghe, Lt. Colonel Indu Samarakoon, Prasanna De Alwis and Janith Kumarage and motorcycle racer Jacques Gunawardana.
