The Browns Exide team dominated the much loved Fox Hill Motor Races organised by the SLARDAR & the Sri Lanka Military Academy and held recently by winning 7 races at the event. This spectacular event drew large numbers of spectators who were interested in experiencing the thrill of motor racing.
For the 4th consecutive year Browns Exide have been special sponsors for this event in which the funds were used for welfare activities in the Military Academy. The motor races consisted of 24 categories that included both car & motor bicycle races. The best of Sri Lanka’s racing drivers and riders took part in this event.
Panduka Weerasingha, General Manager Battery, Agriculture & New Business stated, “The Browns Exide racing team did us proud with an excellent performance. I would like also to thank SLARDAR and the Sri Lanka Military Academy for organising this event.”
Browns Exide sponsored 6 drivers/riders, namely Mahen Madugalla who won 1st place in the SLA up to 1050CC modified category, Shehan Adikari who won 1st place in the Under 16, 85CC (2 events) and the under 16 125CC event and Pasindu Peiris who won 1st place the SLGT 3500CC (2 races) and SLH 1600CC event and was awarded Fox Hill Champion Driver 2011.
Winning 2nd place for the Browns Exide teams was Chaminda Weerasooriya in the Ford Laser Mazda 1500CC event and W.M.K. Wickramasinghe in the Mini 7 SLA event. Third place was awarded to U.C. Perera in the 1300 Ford Laser event.
