Following on from what its organisers rated as an immensely successful inaugural edition, the Bradby Fiesta is once again set to entertain revellers from Royal and Trinity College on 23 May at the Bloomfield and Race Course grounds from 11.00 a.m. until 12 midnight.
“The Bradby Fiesta will welcome the troops and supporters from Kandy and provide a space for the two schools to fuse together in the true spirit of the Bradby. We are putting all our effort into making the 71st rugby encounter between Royal and Trinity College a memorable one,” Royal College Principal Upali Gunasekara remarked.
HSBC will serve as the event’s main sponsor and official credit card partner, while Sri Lanka Telecom will act as its telecommunications partner, with Coca-Cola, Atlas and Amana Takaful Insurance functioning as co-sponsors.
One of the marquee events of the annual carnival is a live screening of the Colombo leg of the Bradby Shield, which is guaranteed to supply an added layer of excitement to a day set to teem with it.
The day’s other offerings include a play area for children, a hawker street lined with food stalls representing leading hotels and restaurants, live music, papare bands and an elaborate fireworks display set to serve as a victory celebration.
HSBC’s Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management Nilantha Bastian said the bank was proud to be associated with an event which promotes and celebrates such a prestigious encounter.
“As the market leader in credit cards, we strive to support the lifestyles of our customers through unique events such as the Bradby Fiesta and believe that this will be an exciting day for all our cardholders and rugby enthusiasts,” he said.
HSBC credit cardholders who attend the Bradby Fiesta are entitled to free admission and several special offers.
