The BMW Golf Cup International, sponsored by Prestige Automobile, was held successfully for the fifth consecutive year at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC). One of the most sought-after golf tournaments in the country, the event saw 280 golf enthusiasts teeing off to win exciting awards.
BMW International Golf Cup was held under two categories – BMW Golf Cup International Open and BMW Customer. The tournament commenced with a shotgun start, where many golfing enthusiasts were able to enjoy a competitive game while amassing experience. The BMW Golf Cup International Open was carried out under four categories – Gentlemen A Division, Gentlemen B Division, Ladies and Seniors with the winners of the respective categories being awarded a fully-paid business class ticket to fly to South Africa.
The BMW Customer category winners, which was divided as Gentlemen A Division, Gentlemen B Division and Ladies, earned the opportunity to participate in the BMW International Golf Tournament, which will be held in Fancourt Golf Resort, George, South Africa with the participation of over 50 countries. All costs for the journey to the BMW International Golf Tournament, including accommodation and airfare to travel in business class, will be borne by Prestige Automobile, the local agent of BMW.
The ‘hole in one’ was open to all the participants of the BMW Golf Cup International Open and BMW Customer categories. Further, as recognition for the achievement, a brand new BMW i3 was awarded to the golfer who hit a “hole in one” at this event.
At the conclusion of the tournament, a gala function with cocktails was held, which was attended by the Ambassador of Germany to Sri Lanka Dr. Jürgen Morhard as Chief Guest.
