Three top teams at the fourth and final round (1st – BKMS Racing, 2nd – Blue Pepper, 3rd – RHC Racing)
Overall runners-up Raptor Racing Eagles
Overall Champions BKMC Racing with motor racing legend Dilantha Malagamuwa
Sheer grit and a can-do attitude saw BKMS Racing through to the top at the last karting event of the year at the Sri Lanka Karting Circuit, Bandaragama. The fourth and final round of the six-hour Endurance Karting Championship was a closely contested race with three teams out of the top five completing the same number of laps.
Though starting 10th on the grid and trailing runners-up Blue Pepper by almost two laps for the first five hours, BKMS racers pulled their socks up and turned the race around, with Brayan Perera and Ushan Perera doing their bit to close the gap and Kevin Perera completing a flawless run in the wet to lead his team by one lap in the end.
BKMS Racing completed a total of 499 laps. Not only did they win the second consecutive round but clinched the championship too. Their pit crew Lucky and Sampath also pitched in, managing the pit stops under one-and-a-half minutes and giving their drivers an edge over the other teams.
Twelve teams took part in the final round while RHC Racing, Intek Racing and SLR Motorsports finished third, fourth and fifth respectively, completing 496 laps each.
Raptor Racing Eagles were the overall runners-up.
The event was sponsored by Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation and Assetline Leasing Company.
