Asia Rugby has awarded the Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) the rights to host the 2016 Asia Rugby Development Sevens Series for both Men & Women in India on 20 and 21 February in Chennai. The second leg will take place in Dubai on 26 and 27 February.
Chennai Sevens
Men’s -Bangladesh, Taipei, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Nepal, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Thailand and UAE
Women’s-Guam, India, Nepal, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Indonesia
Dubai sevens
Men’s
Taipei, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Thailand and UAE
The winner of the men’s series in Chennai and Dubai will win a place for their country to participate in the Asia Rugby Sevens Series 2016 in a three leg tournament. The winner of the women’s tournament in Chennai will win a place for their country to participate in the Asia Rugby Sevens Series 2016 which will feature three legs, and will be played between Septembers - October, 2016.
