Leading referee Anil Jayasinghe and veteran coach Viper Gunaratne Jr. will take wing to Japan in order to attend the World Rugby Educators Workshop in February this year.
The workshop will see representation from New Zealand, Australia and Ireland. After a successful club career with Kandy, Anil later became one of the country’s top referees. He presently handles the Match Commissioner and TMO job roles for Sri Lanka Rugby.
Meanwhile his town mate Viper Jr. is a leading referee, who has formerly coached St. Joseph’s College and is presently in charge of Vidyartha College. He too played for Kandy before taking up coaching schools. He has handled the Under-20 Kandyan outfit. He has been in charge of the Hambantota Sharks team as well.
