Amãna Takaful, the flag bearer of the Takaful way of insurance in Sri Lanka, recently hosted insurance brokers in a friendly bowling tournament filled with fun and entertainment. The event held in Colombo saw over 100 participants from 15 companies come together in spirited camaraderie with Amãna Takaful Staff to send skittles rolling down the aisles
“Amãna Takaful has close working relations with its brokers who play an integral role in the industry and play a ‘big’ role in the insurance industry. Instead of the customary business meetings we felt that it would be a good idea to get out of the formalities and bring everyone together for a session of bowling,” said Adel Hashim, General Manage Sales and Marketing, Amãna Takaful. “Measuring from the enthusiasm and excitement I think it was a good move. We all work hard throughout the day and it is good occasionally to loosen up.”
The championship was exciting and fun, as the teams saw themselves winning top prizes. While Reliance Insurance brokers bowled their way to 2nd Runners-Up, Placid Insurance brokers took away the rewards for the 1st Runners-Up.
Delmege Insurance Brokers emerged as the overall winners of the Broker Bowling Championship. Special achievement trophies were presented to Keshini Thillakarathne of Pioneer Insurance Brokers and Sanjeev Michael of Alfinco Insurance Brokers for the highest scorer in Ladies and Gents categories respectively.
Michael Jansz of Delmege Insurance brokers walked away with the award for making the highest number of strikes while the Best Player of the Tournament went to Anderio Toyssaint of Cenergy Insurance Brokers.
With branches in 21 locations island-wide, Amãna Takaful just completed a very successful year. The company has posted growth twice that of the industry at 22.4% while returning to profits.
