Allianz LankaCEO Surekha Alles hands the sponsorship agreement to Brigadier Rajitha Ampemohotti. Allianz Lanka has extended financial and technical support of the Sri Lanka Paralympic team for a further two years.The new sponsorship agreement was signed at the Allianz Lanka head office in Colombo recently, by Allianz Lanka CEO SurekhaAlles and President of the Sri Lanka Paralympic committee Brigadier Rajitha Ampemohotti.
Present at the signing ceremony were the management of Allianz Lanka Sri Lanka Paralympic committee Treasurer PriyanthaPeiris. In line with the sponsorship Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between parent company, financial services conglomerate Allianz SE of Germany and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. tied up with the Sri Lanka Paralympic committee in 2013. Since then, Allianz Insurance Lanka had extended financial and technical support that has substantially enhancedthe performance of the Sri Lanka Paralympic team at international games events.
The Sri Lanka Paralympic team comprises many soldiers who lost limbs while in active combat during the civil war. Their courage and experiences have helped boost the morale and performances of their civilian Paralympians, and it is expected that this teamwork will further contribute to building a better future for Paralympics in Sri Lanka.
Allianz Lanka reinforced its sponsorship ofthe Sri Lanka Paralympic team to the Second Asian Paralympic games in South Korea last year, even prior to confirmation of their tour. The Sri Lanka team won 14 medals including a gold medal at the South Korean games.

Brigadier Rajitha Ampemohotti expressed his gratitude to Allianz Insurance Lanka for its role in the recent success story of the Sri Lanka Paralympic team.
