Former Pakistan captains Wasim Akram, Javed Miandad and Intikhab Alam are part of a four-member committee named by the PCB to appoint Pakistan’s coaching staff, following the departure of Dav Whatmore and Julien Fountain. Whatmore and Fountain, the coach and fielding coach respectively, ended their tenures with the Pakistan side after the home series against Sri Lanka in the UAE. Subhan Ahmed, the PCB’s COO, is also part of the committee that will attempt to fill three positions, including head coach, batting coach and fielding coach. Mohammad Akram is currently the team’s bowling coach. Those interested in applying will have until February 6 to do so. Pakistan’s next international assignment is the Asia Cup in Bangladesh starting February 25. Whatmore and Fountain were appointed in March 2012 and their contracts were for two years each.
