The 2nd edition of the Inter-Advertising Agency Tag-Rugby Challenge 2016, powered by Hiru TV, will be held on Friday, 4 November at a floodlit Havelock Sports Club grounds, commencing at 5.00 p.m.
The following 12 teams pooled into four groups will play a series of 20 matches in two stages: the league consisting of 12 matches and the knockout stage consisting of eight matches, including the play-off for third place and the final.
Group ’A’: Grants Advertising Ltd. (2015 winner), Triad Ltd. and Group MMedia Ltd. ‘B’.
Group ‘B’: Mullenlowe Sri Lanka, Magic Mango Ltd. (newcomers) and Group M Media Ltd. ‘A’
Group ‘C’: J. Walter Thompson Sri Lanka, Media Factory Ltd. and Shift Integrated Ltd.
Group ‘D’: Leo Burnett Solutions (2015 runners-up), Bates Strategic Alliance and Sarva Integrated.
The tournament is organised by The Four A’s under co-chairs Peter Solomon and Selonica Nalawansa.
The draw and the captains briefing was held on 1 November at 6.00 p.m. at the Leo Burnett Solutions boardroom.
As the floodlights come on at Havelocks, a carnival atmosphere will prevail with competitions such as one for the Best Hakka and a T-shirt parade. There will also be plenty of hawker street style food stalls.
