The annual Graham Sinclair Cup, widely considered a warm up for the main events, took place yesterday at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Course (NEGC) with Yemindra Udalagamuwa coming out victorious. Followed closely by Maj Srinath Rajapakse in second place. More than 70 golfers participated in this event.
The two main events - the annual Captain’s Cup and President’s Prize - at NEGC both tournaments Board events with a long and rich value, will see the cream of players teeing off for honours in the hills. Tee-off is scheduled at 7 am on both days.
Haroon Aslam will defend his President’s Prize while top-form golfer Chamara Abeyrathne, will be back in Nuwara Eliya to defend his Captain’s Cup. The action packed weekend, including the Club AGM (Annual General Meeting), will take place today at the prestigous club in the Hills.
The organising committee at NEGC will conduct these tournaments under strict health and safety guidelines. Nearly 100 players will be competing.
