Kandy Sports Club managed to level scores (29/29) during injury time in their West Asian Club Championship 2017 rugby encounter against Abu Dhabi Harliquins played at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium yesterday.
At the short breather, the visitors led 17/10.
The Harliquins played well in the early stage of the game, while Kandy took time to settle down. But later in the game, Kandy, through their fitness, dished out Champaign rugby. Though without their 11 senior players, the team lived up to its standards to draw level.
For Kand,y Anurudha Wilwara (2) and Oshan Perera scored tries and was awarded with a penalty try as well. Full back Thilina Weerasinghe put over a penalty for the home team. Kandy leveled scores in the final injury minute. The conversion taken by Arshard Jamaldeen hit the up right to level scores 29 a piece.
