Udesh and Tasmila carrom champions of Western Province

Udesh Chandima of SL Air Force and Tasmila Kavindi of Mahamaya Balika, Nugegoda who represented Colombo District were able to win the championships of Men’s and Women’s single events respectively of the Western Province carrom championships held at the CFSL HQ in Delkanda from 22 to 24 March. This has been organised by the Ministry of Sports and Education of Western Province to select both men and women teams to be represented at the 46th National Sports Festival. Udesh Chandima beat Hasitha Anuruddha also of SL Air Force by 2/1 (25/24, 17/25, 25/24) while Tasmila Kavindi beat Maduka Dilshani of SL Army by 2/0 (25/17, 25/0) at the finals of Men’s and Women’s Singles. Nishantha Fernando and Joseph Roshita of SL Navy were positioned as third places.

Under the directions Director Sports Sewwandi Hettiarachchi, Sports Officer (Carrom) Nishantha Dayasiri organised this tournament under the supervision of Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka. Over 150 players took part at this occasion.

16 players both men and women were selected to represent WP at the 46th National Sports Festival. The players are as follows.
