UAE secures promotion to Division 1

The UAE secured promotion for the Asian rugby Championship Division 1 in 2020 when they outclassed the hosts Thailand 50/12 in a one-sided final in Bangkok recently.

Guam were beaten by Kazakhstan 17/10 which will demote them to Division 3 in 2020.

UAE will complete in Division 1 next year. Division 1 tournament will take place next weekend in Taipei with Sri Lanka, Taipei, Singapore and Philippines taking part.

The Sri Lankan outfit in training camp at the Sugathadasa Stadium with a 32-member pool will name the touring squad of 26 players in two days.
