The Trinity Colllege Under-16 hockey team

Trinity College, Kandy will battle S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia in their annual hockey encounter, which will take place at the Asgiriya Stadium on 3 November.

The game will commence at 1.30 p.m.

The Under 19 encounter will be played for the Warden Neville de Alwis Trophy in a fixture which was inaugurated in 2003. The Thomians lead the series with seven wins to Trinity’s five with two matches ending in draws. The Under 16 clash will be played for the BSG Sahayam Shield while the Old Boys encounter will be played for the Mirzan Ousmand Trophy.

Sanjeevan Subaramaniam will lead the Trinity Old Boys unit while the Thomians will be led by Pasindu Wanigasooriya.

Senior Lecturer in Chemistry at the Open University of Sri Lanka, Razeen Haniffa, will be the event’s Chief Guest. He was awarded a Hockey Lion in 1974.
