Singer Cup Trinity and Maliyadeva were declared joint champions

Both Trinity College and Maliyadeva College were ajudged joint champions of the Under-13 Singer Cup after the tournament’s finals concluded in Hikkaduwa yesterday.

The tournament was conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association. It would have been better if this encounter was played close to either Kurunegala or Kandy which would have allowed it to attract a larger crowd. Further, allocating a certain number of overs for the first innings of the match would have opened up the tournament in a positive way for the better side to come out on top in the end.
