LECTRA GRAND PRIX 2019 OCTOBER EDITION AFTER 3 ROUNDS
The unexpected did happen! National Champ Chanaka Perera squandered his 5 stroke lead going in to the 3rd round and now shares the lead with B.A. Sanjeewa and B. Vinoth Kumar on 213 – one over par after three rounds.
Sanjeewa and Vinoth Kumar, both carded even par 71 to be joint leaders with Chanaka Perera who scored a 4 over par 75. Meanwhile veteran J.M.D. Indika’s 72 moved him up the leader board to be 4th entering the final round, a distant six strokes behind the leaders. Amarapadma and Sisira Kumara were thereabouts but moved further away from the joint leaders, whilst Dilranga in 4th place after 2 rounds, slipped to 6th place courtesy of a poor round of 79.
The final round is set-up for a great enthralling round of golf where it is sure to go down to the final putt between veteran Sanjeewa, Nuwara Eliya Local Golfer Vinoth Kumar and the National Champ 2019 Chanaka Perera.
End of the day the winner would be Sri Lanka Golf as it gets enriched by strong competition and healthy rivalry, supported by magnanimous sponsors Apparel Technologies by the Bobbin Group of Companies and dedicatedly organised by the Sri Lanka Golf Union, the governing body of golf in Sri Lanka.
