Taniya Balasuriya and Nirekh Tejwani

Young 16-year-old golfer, Nirekh Tejwani accounted for the 132nd Amateur Golf Championship win at the Royal Colombo Golf Club course in Colombo last weekend. He produced some magnificent golf for the five days with some powerful long-range accurate hits. Meanwhile, Taniya Balasuriya accounted for the Ladies event.
More than 60 gents and 15 lady golfers teed off in this annual event which the top ending golfers carrying World Ranking points for the future International events. Defending champion Chanaka Perera was pushed down to No. 2 position while Sherin Balasuriya ended as runner-up in the Ladies main event.
