TVS Racing champ Ishan Dasanayake ready for 2018 revolution

TVS Lanka, which has been in the two-wheeler Industry for more than a decade and has managed to position the brand name in the top rankings by securing the most number of SLIM Awards in 2016 and 2017, has also proven the company’s rapid growth in this competitive market.

Whilst achieving great heights, TVS Lanka has introduced the most captivating motorbike range for the youth in the past three years.

Commenting on the TVS brand being presented with many awards and emerging as the winner in a very competitive market, TVS Lanka Chief Executive Officer Ravi Liyanage stated: “TVS racing championships give a good indication on the performance of our machines and our machines are put to the best test on the racetracks and have proven to be far superior to the competition. The power of TVS machines, which brought consecutive wins to the TVS Racing Unit, has been endorsed by team member and champion rider Ishan Dasanayake, who expressed the utmost gratitude for the heartfelt contribution of TVS Lanka. 

“I was born in Kurunegala. After completing my education at Maliyadeva College, I have been successfully associated with TVS Lanka. It was at the age of four that I participated in my first race and with my father’s guidance my only dream was to become a champion rider. Becoming a member of the TVS Racing Unit From 2013, I have been able to win many races. Also this year I have signed agreements with TVS Lanka for the next two years,” said Dasanayake.

“I had the privilege of becoming the national champion in 2016 and 2017 and at the same time in 2016 I had the opportunity of participating in many races and won all of them. The Fox Hill Supercross, Walawe Supercross, Castle Reigh Supercross, Gajaba Supercross, Sigiriya Supercross, Gunner Supercross and Commando Challenges could be recognised as the most important wins of them all.

“I had the great privilege of becoming the champion of SLANDAR and SLADA in 2017 and also finished in second place on the Indian Tour after completing six rounds. In addition to that, I secured the 16th place in round 1 of the Asian Motor Cross held in Malaysia and further secured 12th place in Indonesia and 8th place in the Philippines.

“I had to undergo surgery on my shoulder recently and I’m successfully recovering at the moment. With all my achievements by winning so many races, there are some key targets for 2018 and one of them is to participate in the Premier Races in the Fox Hill Supercross 2018. Further, I have made plans to participate in close to 10 races, including the Asian rounds,” Dasanayake revealed.

“I must specially mention TVS Lanka’s immense contribution behind these achievements and journey. To top it all TVS Lanka has provided me with the revolutionary motorbike of 2018 – The Super Machine, TVS RTR 250CC.

“TVS Lanka has provided me with huge support for all my races, especially by bringing down mechanical engineers from India. The encouragement and support extended by the management of TVS Lanka has not only helped me to be strong physically, but mentally too.”
