Former Trinitian Surain Premathilake once again created history on the golf circuit, this time at the Highlanders Cup Golf 2018 where he emerged the overall nett winner at the re-laid Diyatalawa Army Golf Course last weekend.
The event, which was organised by the Sri Lanka Army Golf Committee (SLAGC) headed by Brig. Nanda Hathurusinghe, was well-attended and organised in a very professional manner. The event’s Chief Guest was the Army Commander Mahesh Senanayake. He opened the newly-constructed clubhouse before the commencement of the tournament.
Trophies and certificates were awarded in the Highlanders Cup Tournament for the overall Best Net points, the winner with Best Gross points, Best Winners and Runners-up in the A and B divisions along with several awards presented to lady players in the tournament.
Evergreen golfer Niloo Jaythilake claimed the Ladies’ gross and runner-up titles at the net event. The overall gross winner was Sathies Balasubramaniam.
