The 6th SABA (South Asia Basketball Association) Championship Tournament held in Dhaka Bangladesh - from 15 to 19 November started playoffs with a total of four countries (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Maldives).

Participating at the championship, two of Fairfirst’s very own star performers Shehan Udayanga and Praneeth Udumalagala, actively contributed towards bringing home the Silver Medal. As the next step in winning Silver, the team has the opportunity to play for FIBA Asia pre-qualifiers in 2022.
Fairfirst Insurance has always been an ardent supporter of Sri Lanka’s budding sporting talents and is home to a number of employees who take part at national sporting level in cricket, swimming, netball and basketball. Actively promoting other mercantile sports, the company holds several titles, including the defending champions of the Mercantile basketball, cricket and netball championships.

Shehan Udayanga, Fairfirst’s basketball star, commented: “It’s a good feeling to be able to do our best. And it’s a greater feeling when the company which is as much a sport enthusiast, supports and understands the importance of a sound work-life balance. I also take this moment to give due credit to the team and our coach. It’s their morale that carried us through to the finals and brought us this winning Silver moment.”
