Sri Lankan Ambassador hosts reception in honour of German volleyball teams visiting Sri Lanka

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Germany Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi hosted a reception at his official residence on 10 June in honour of the two German volleyball teams who have confirmed their visit to Sri Lanka in August, to participate in a few friendly encounters with Sri Lankan volleyball teams. In his brief speech, the Ambassador elaborated that the visit by the two volleyball teams, at this juncture, is a testimony to the strong friendship the two countries share, and will send a strong signal to the German tourists, regarding the safety and security ensured in Sri Lanka, in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attack.

The evening was glamoured with a number of Sri Lankan dances, performed by the Sri Lanka Army cultural troops, who had been in Berlin following the Karneval der Culturen held from 7-10 June.

Members of the Sri Lanka Association in Berlin also attended the reception.
