Sri Lankan Airlines retain Travel Trade Futsal Soccer cup

SriLankan Airlines retained the Travel Trade sports Club, 5-a-side, Futsal Soccer title for the second year running, when they beat Cinnamon Grand Colombo “A” by a Goal to Nil, at its third edition, sponsored by Yenesha Travels, concluded last week at Club Fusion Indoor Sports Arena, Boralesgamuwa.

12 teams in four groups participated and at the completion of the round robin, the two top teams of each group advanced to the knock-out, quarter finals.

Quarter Finals - Acom Group beat Cinnamon Grand Colombo “B” 1/Nil, Cinnamon Grand Colombo “A” beat Cinnamon Hotels 2/1, Sri Lankan Airlines beat Walkers Tours 7/Nil, Waters Edge beat Metro Travels 2/1
Semi Finals - Sri Lankan Airlines beat Acom Group on penalties, 2/1 as the match ended in a 1-all draw; Cinnamon Grand Colombo “A” beat Waters Edge on penalties, 4/3, as the match ended in a 2 /all draw
Play-off for the third place - Waters Edge beat Acom Group 2/1
Final - Sri Lankan Airlines beat Cinnamon Grand Colombo “A” 1/Nil

The awards were given away by the TTSC President Anil Hapugoda, Senior VP Mani Sugathapala and officials Adrian Jansz, Shavinda Jinadasa, Amri Noordeen and Viroshana Herath.
