Sri Lanka will send nine athletes for the two-leg, Asian Grand Prix series which will take place in China next month. Seven of the Sri Lanka’s Asian Championship team, plus another two athletes who made the required standards in timing, will fly to China for these two events, which will take place at the same venue on 4 and 7 June.Selections for the Asian Grand Prix was done by the Asian Athletics Association with the yardstick used on the previous year’s performances of Asian athletes.

Ajith Premakumara (400m), Rusiru Chathuranga (800m), Sumeda Ranasinghe (Javelin Throw), Geshan Dhananjaya (Triple Jump)
Women’s events
Nadeesha Ramanayaka (400m), Nimali Liyanarachchi (800m), Gayanthika Abeyratne (800m), Tharika Fernando (Shot Put), Dulanjali Ranasinghe (High Jump)
