Sri Lanka after being edged out by Bangladesh will play Nepal in their second encounter today which is a must win in order to keep a hope to feature in the final encounter.
Sri Lanka led by Sujan Perera gave a good account of themselves but were very unlucky to lose out the game but gave a brilliant display of defence as well as attack in the first half but lost focus in the later half. Sri Lanka needs to be more focused as they lost discipline in their opening game accounting for two yellow cards and one red card.
Meanwhile Nepal in their first encounter beat the hosts Maldives by 1/0. Sri Lanka will play hosts, Maldives and India in their last two games of the SAAF tournament where Sri Lanka has won the trophy only once in their history way back in 1995 under Sampath Perera.
