• Nuwara Eliya Golf Club – Master Card Inter-Nation Golf 2020

Team Sri Lanka became champions at the second edition of the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club-Master Card Inter-Nation Golf Classic 2020 which took place at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club recently. A total of nine countries participated. India, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, US, UK and the host, Sri Lanka teed off along with an Asian combined outfit as well. 

Tharanga Gunasekera played a mjor part for the winning SL team

Sri Lankan team D represented by Janaka Gallangoda, Chamara Abeyratne, Tharanga Gunasekara and Priyanga Hapugalle became champions with Team Malaysia ending as the first runner-up and the Korean team C was the second runner-up.

Individual category the winner of the best gross score was Kushal Johnpillai (Sri Lanka) and Lim Ah Hock (Malaysia) won the prize for the best net score. There was a practice session for all the players a day prior at the same venue. A colourful pre-tournament event too took place with the Indian outfit winnings the prize for the best national costume. Master Card Country Head Santosh Kumar was the Guest of Honour. Zam Gems and Cinnamon Hotels were the co-sponsors of the event.
