The Ambassador Cup 2017 six-a-side cricket tournament, hosted by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing with the support of the Chinese Cricket Association, was held on 18 and 19 November at the Dulwich International College Sports Complex in Beijing.
The tournament sought to promote the bond of friendship between Chinese youth and the Sri Lankan community as well as the communities of other cricket-playing nations living in China. Teams representing the Bangladeshi, Nepali, Pakistani and Sri Lankan communities in Beijing as well as the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law participated in the tournament.
The Pakistan team won the Ambassador Cup 2017 six-a-side cricket tournament by beating Sri Lanka in the finals, and the champions and the runners-up were awarded trophies at a grand ceremony held on 19 November.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Beijing Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku, Secretary General of the Chinese Sports School Federation Li Guicheng and the Deputy Ambassador of Pakistan in Beijing Mumtaz Zahra Baloch attended the event as guests of honour.
