Sri Lanka Cricket donated medicines worth Rs. 1 million to the Apeksha (Cancer) Hospital in Maharagama recently.The move was initiated by ‘Cricket Aid’, the charity arm of Sri Lanka Cricket; under the guidance of the Minister of Sports Faiszer Musthapa.
The donation which was handed over by SLC CEO Ashley De Silva to Apeksha Hospital Deputy Director Dr. Buddika Kurukulasuriya, took place while the members of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team and the officials of the SLC made a visit to the hospital and spent their valuable time with the patients.
The SLC also handed over gifts to nearly 50 children who are being treated at the Department of Paediatric Oncology at the Apeksha Hospital.
Cricket Aid was established in 2004.
