While the Sri Lanka Cricket Emerging Team posted their first win, beating Sampath Bank by 80 runs and ensuring a berth in the semifinals, LB Finance endured their second consecutive no-result due to bad weather, at the ongoing 27th Singer-MCA Premier League T20 League, which continued on Tuesday.
The SLC Emerging XI, sent into bat, posted a modest 139 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs and defended it well, as their bowlers Nimanda Subasinghe (4-14-4) and Dhananjaya Lakshan (0.2-0-2) bamboozled the experienced Sampath Bank batsmen, who were shot out for a paltry 59 runs in 13.2 overs. Dhananjaya Lakshan will be on a hat-trick when the SLC Emerging Team take on Dimo in their next game.
