Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa poses with Ranajayapura College cricket team coach Ajith Bandara, other officials, and a group of players who participated at the discussion
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa came to the aid of Kekirawa Ranajayapura College cricketers when he provided them with a new matting surface and two bags containing cricket kits. He also offered them transport facilities to get the equipment transported to Kekirawa, stated a release from the Ministry of Sports Media Unit.
The Minister’s attention was drawn to a media report that the matting used for cricket practices by the college team had been sabotaged and set on fire by someone, causing extensive damage.
Minister Rajapaksa had invited the cricketers and officials of the school to his Ministry yesterday, discussed the situation with them, and took the necessary action.
The Minister also instructed officials to make arrangements for the construction of an outdoor fitness centre and sports infrastructure facility for future use by the children.
