World Rugby Chairman Sir Bill Beaumont

Sir Bill Beamont was re-appointed as the Chairman of World Rugby at its once-in-four-years appointment, beating the ex-Argentinian player Agustin Pichot by 28 to 23 votes. Sri Lanka Rugby and Asia Rugby (AR), too, voted for Pichot, who missed out by a close six votes. Pichot, who, had great support from New Zealand Rugby as well will head the finance part of the next Rugby World Cup (RWC) in France in 2023.
Beaumont’s second term will be officially confirmed at World Rugby’s annual council meeting on 12 May.
