Both Trinity College and Kingswood College will lock horns in their third encounter of the Singer League Under-19 rugby encounter at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium today.
Kick-off is scheduled for 4.00 p.m. Kingswood lost out to Royal College in the opening group game while they got the better of S. Thomas’ College in their second outing while the Trinitians edged out St. Anthony’s College 15-11 in a closely-fought encounter while in the second encounter they lost out to St. Joseph’s College 32-25.
The Kingswoodians are led by centre and third year player Tharindu Weligampola. They have some quick runners in their outfit such as Sachintha Seneviratne, Mohamed Azam and Ifham Jaleel and they should be kept in check.
If space is given to Trinity they could be inviting trouble. Meanwhile, Trinity possesses a good three-quarter line which is threatening on attack. Led by Avishka Sheik, they consist of Warren Weerakoon, Naveen Rajaratnam, Zayd Faizal and Drendra Ratwatte. Ranaraja and Ikram too are good players in attack as well as defence.
Kicks at goal could be a deciding factor between the two sides where Kingswoood hold a slight edge over their opponents. Going according to form, Trinity hold a slight edge over their opponents. The winner will move to third position in the group behind Royal College and St. Joseph’s College while the loser will drop down to fourth position ahead of S. Thomas’ and St. Anthony’s College.
Trinity College is coached by former New Zealand Sevens player Lote Raikabullah while the Kingswoodians have Ronny Ibrahim as their Rugby Consultant.
