Trinity College will find it tough to get the better of much- improved Wesley outfit in their Singer League Under-19 rugby encounter which will be worked off today (2 June) at their Pallekelle Rugby Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled at 4 p.m.
Trinity College with their improved second round performance will be up against a formidable Wesley outfit who was beaten by Royal by a single point in their last outing. Skipper, Daiyan Sabar, Kavindana Perera and Dexter Goonatilake are the players to watch out in the Wesley camp. They hit the peak in their last game which could have easily gone their way which would have ended Royal’s unbeaten run.
Trinity will heavily depend in their on-form player, Vishwa Ranaraja. He could be threatening with ball on attack. Scrum Half, Amith kulatunge and Rishen Bandaranayake all are classy players once settled down in their game. Amith is likely to come in the later half to add more mobility for the Kandy outfit. Trinity performed a yard faster in their second round games narrowly going down to Peterites by just one converted try and coming on equal terms against Isipathana in Colombo. Number 8, Lenox Calyanaratne too has not his peak so far though much was expected from him. Trinity will need to come on top of their game in order to secure this plus their last game at home against Zahira in order to feature in the Milo knock out encounter later this month which will feature the top 6 and plate top 2 teams.
According to reliable source Trinity Head Coach, Lote Raikabulla is to step down after the league encounter against Zahira.
