Seethadevi emerge Under-20 Central Province hockey champs

Seethadevi Girls’ College beat Sangamitta College, Matale 1-0 in the Central Province Under 20 hockey encounter which concluded in Matale recently.

In the semi-final encounter, Sangamitta College beat St. Anthony’s Girls, Kandy 4-3 in a penalty shootout while Seethadevi got the better of Swarnamali, Kandy 1-0. In the consolation final Swarnamali beat St Anthony’s Girls 1-0.

This event was conducted to select the three teams from the Central Province for the All-Island Schools Hockey Championship 2019, which will take place at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy from 12-15 October. (SJ)
